Review
The episode starts with Gumball answering Penny from his home phone. How is The Wattersons still have a home phone while a majority of real life houses no longer have one? Anyways, Penny says that Gumball is late to hang out at "Dinner", a restaurant in the Mall, which Gumball misunderstood it as they going to have dinner at Penny's house. Wow, first minute in and this episode already is funny. So, Gumball is rushing to go to the Mall however he is stopped by Darwin who wants him to see his "ears" wiggle. Then Richard crashes his car to a streetlight. It reveals that Richard was following the directions that Gumball told him. Now, Gumball continues his way to the Mall with Banana Joe stopping him to ask him if they can hang out. When Gumball say to Joe that he has to follow me, he actually followed him. At one point, Banana Joe starts sliding when Gumball said that he can't talk nor walk. This moment is ridiculous! Now, Gumball is stopped by a hobo that he wants him to donate to his cause. Gumball only has money for his date with Penny so he can't donate to the hobo however he said that he still pay for food at "Dinner". This will pay a role on later. Next, Gumball is stopped by three construction workers. They makes fun of Gumball's big head so he talks back to them. However, the construction workers actually said that as a compliment. So they want to hang out at the Mall but Gumball doesn't want that at first but after they suggest they go to schools, he decides that the Mall would be the best opinion. Richard is back but this time he is going to the store. Gumball wants to ride in his dad's car but Richard immediately left to the Mall without him. "Why is no one understand me today?!" I do feel the same, Gumball. Now, there's some shape people who are trying to find someplace in a map. Gumball interrupts them however, he wants to help them find they're destination. In the progress, Gumball accidentally made fun of them and leave. Finally, Gumball made it to the mall with Penny still waiting at "Dinner". When he try to wave at Penny, someone mistook that has bidding for a prize. Lucky, Gumball only has to pay a dollar for that. When Gumball enters "Dinner" to talk to Penny, all the people that he meet today come to torture him even more. When that chaos over with, Gumball finally has time to hang out with Penny. However, she started choking but Gumball decides to end his date early leading her to stop choking in an angry face.
Overall Thoughts
My overall thoughts about The Misunderstandings is that it's a funny episode with a basic concept. I wonder why "Dinner" got it's name changed to "Diner" in The One but that's not a issue. There are some scenes that I not comfortable with like when Penny starts to choke on a burger.
