Gumball The Transformation Review: Why was it a Disappointment?

Hello everyone! Today is my first review on this blog! However, my first one is a disappointing episode. Why is The Transformation from The Amazing World of Gumball a disappointment? Well, let's find that out after the break! (Or ignore this post if you don't want to get spoiled!)

Beginning

The Transformation is the third Gumball episode that aired during Cartoon Network's "Best Summer Ever!" program for July. Before this episode aired, many people (including me) was hoping that Penny's family will reveal their true selves. However, this episode isn't what we were expecting.

Review

We start this episode with Gumball chatting with Penny on Elmore Plus. During their discussion , Penny wants Gumball to be at her place to fix a problem. He agrees to that and in the progress, he lost his clothes. Is there a thing that Gumball has to be clothes less at least one episode in a season? Anyways, Gumball joins The Fitzgeralds' discussion about debating on either they stays in their shells or have to reveal their true selves. Both sides have pretty good reasons. It's up to Gumball to settle this debate or else he has to be forced in a shell for the rest of his life. This next scene is a bit disturbing because The Fitzgeralds (except Polly, Penny's young sister) are making Gumball nervous on his decision. What was the accident on Mrs. Fitzgerald's cookie? This became dark so fast good thing that it was short. Now, Gumball decision is in a form of a story that is prolonging and getting old so fast. The episode ends with Gumball running away as Penny's family forgive each other.

The Answer

Before I got over my overall thoughts, I want to answer why is the episode a disappointment? To be honest, I think the Gumball staff are keeping the surprise from us and made Gumball's story prolonging enough. At least we have an idea on the colors of each Fitzgerald, Red being Patrick (Penny's father), Pink being Judith (Penny's mother), and Purple being Polly. If they're saving the surprise for a future episode or a possible, then I will forgive this episode.

Overall Thoughts

My overall thoughts about this episode that it's have a good concept on either or not The Fitzgeralds should get out of their shells or not. While it is disappointing that we didn't see them getting out of their shells, I think the debate is good enough to make up most of it. The problems that I had is that we would have seen their true selves if it wasn't for Gumball's story being so long and the disturbing scene.

Episode Rating: 6/10 (Decent)
